A poor bargain when the platform was only a landlord. A dangerous one now that AI can rewrite a community’s own memory and judgement.

A private home a community owns outright. Our machines, in New Zealand and the EU.

A record the community keeps itself — and can lift out and check on its own computer, without asking us anything at all.

Models draw the whole deliberation together under one unbreakable rule: find the shape of the room’s thinking, never average its people away.

A minority position survives into the result — named, with its reasoning attached.

From a room to a society

A referendum crushes a nation into a single bit. A survey grades a set of questions someone else chose.

Neither can carry a society’s real reasoning — its breadth, its dissent — from the room to the scale of the whole.

This machinery can. That is what it is for.

From a Village to agentic infrastructure

The four pillars are the conditions under which it becomes safe to let a machine act on a community’s behalf.

A memory it cannot forge. A model of the community. Tools the community holds. Law that is the community’s own.

Take those four risks away, and only then can the agent be trusted to act.

The doorway

Harari’s warning: AI is learning to master the systems that hold a society together — its records, its institutions, its shared sense of what is true — and whoever masters those systems governs the society itself.

The Village is that same architecture, answered from the inside. A community meets that future as a participant, not a subject.

Built and running: the record, the situated AI, the synthesis that refuses to average.

Federation: real code, off by default — a rehearsal capability, not yet a standing service.
